Legal · Smart Rebel Convention 2026 / ISA Frankfurt
General Terms and Conditions for Ticket Sales
As of 11 October 2026 (Version 1.5). This English version is a convenience translation; in case of discrepancies, the German version shall prevail (Section 3 (7)).
Section 1 Scope
(1) These General Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) apply to all contracts for admission rights (“Tickets”) and add-on products for the Smart Rebel Convention 2026, including the finale of the International Space Assembly (“ISA”) and the associated evening events (“Side Events”), concluded via the ticket shop at https://tickets.smartrebels.com.
(2) These T&C also apply to tickets for the European Space Law Forum on 31 October 2026 (09:00 to 12:45) (the “Forum”), insofar as they are booked via the ticket shop. A Forum ticket includes neither the ISA nor any Side Events. Special provisions for the Forum are set out in Section 10 (2), Section 11 (7) and the Annex.
(3) Deviating terms of the customer apply only if the organiser expressly agrees to them in text form.
(4) A “consumer” is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession (Section 13 German Civil Code, BGB). An “entrepreneur” is any person within the meaning of Section 14 BGB.
Section 2 Organiser and Contracting Party
(1) The organiser and contracting party is:
Smart Rebellion GmbH
Vilbeler Landstraße 186, 60388 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Managing Director: Bernd Breiter
Local Court (Amtsgericht) Berlin-Charlottenburg, HRB 227509 B
VAT ID: DE346524891
Email: [email protected]
Phone: +49 172 3507561
(2) The main event within the meaning of these T&C is the ISA finale on 31 October 2026 from 13:00 to 21:00 at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Frankfurt am Main, followed by the afterparty. The Forum takes place on the same day from 09:00 to 12:45 at the venue stated in the ticket shop. The Side Events take place on the dates, at the times and at the venues stated in the ticket shop for each event.
(3) Where individual programme items are designed or hosted by third parties (e.g. partners, speakers or hosts), the organiser alone remains the customer’s contracting party. Access to third-party facilities is additionally subject to their house rules and visitor regulations (see Sections 6 and 12).
Section 3 Conclusion of Contract
(1) The presentation of tickets in the ticket shop does not constitute a legally binding offer but an invitation to place an order.
(2) The ordering process comprises the following steps: selection of tickets, selection of Side Events (add-on products), entry of contact details and any further information, selection of payment method, review of the order, and submission by clicking the button “order with obligation to pay” (or an equivalent label); for orders at a price of €0, by clicking “order free of charge”. Before submitting, the customer can review and correct all entries using the steps of the ordering process and the “Back” button.
(3) By submitting the order, the customer makes a binding offer to conclude a contract for the selected tickets and add-on products. The organiser confirms receipt of the order without undue delay by automatic email (acknowledgement of receipt); this does not yet constitute acceptance. The contract is concluded when the organiser accepts the order. Acceptance takes place by the order confirmation containing the ticket, which is sent after successful payment. For tickets at a price of €0 (for example with a partner code), acceptance takes place by the order confirmation containing the ticket without prior payment. If the organiser does not accept the order within two working days (for tickets subject to approval, the period under paragraph 5 applies), the customer is no longer bound by the order; any payment already made will be refunded without undue delay.
(4) Products in the shopping cart are reserved for the period shown in the ticket shop (currently 30 minutes). After this period, availability can no longer be guaranteed.
(5) Tickets subject to approval (Rebel Starter). For tickets that require proof of eligibility, the customer uploads the proof during the ordering process. The organiser reviews the proof within three working days of receipt of the order. Only by approving it by email does the organiser accept the order; the contract is thereby concluded and the customer receives a request for payment. If approval is refused or not granted within this period, no contract is concluded and the customer is no longer bound by the order; any payments already made will be refunded without undue delay. There is no entitlement to approval.
(6) The contract text is stored by the organiser. The customer receives the order details and these T&C by email and can view the order at any time via the link in the order emails. If the link can no longer be found, it can be requested in the ticket shop via “Resend link”.
(7) The contract language is German. The ticket shop is also available in English and French; translations of these T&C are provided for information purposes. In the event of discrepancies, the German version shall prevail.
Section 4 Ticket Types and Scope of Services
(1) The scope of services results from the description of the respective ticket type in the ticket shop at the time of ordering. The following are currently offered:
| Ticket type | Services | Special conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Rebel Starter | ISA finale on 31.10.2026, 13:00 to 21:00, afterparty, 2 Side Events of choice | Students and apprentices only; proof during ordering, approval by the organiser, proof to be shown at entry |
| Smart Rebel | ISA finale on 31.10.2026, 13:00 to 21:00, afterparty, 2 Side Events of choice | No proof required |
| VIP Rebel | ISA finale, afterparty, 6 Side Events of choice, access to the VIP area with food and drinks, masterclass | Limited allocation; meet & greet as a voluntary bonus without entitlement (para. 2) |
| European Space Law Forum | Participation in the Forum on 31.10.2026, 09:00 to 12:45 | No ISA, no Side Events; right of withdrawal for consumers (Section 10 (2)) |
(2) The meet & greet mentioned for the VIP Rebel ticket in the ticket shop is a voluntary bonus and not part of the contractually owed services. Whether it takes place and with which guests depends on their availability. There is no entitlement to it; its cancellation does not entitle the customer to a price reduction or refund. The same applies to other services expressly marked in the ticket shop as a bonus “subject to availability”.
(3) Reduced-price tickets are valid only together with valid proof of eligibility, which must be presented in the original at entry upon request. If the proof cannot be presented, entry may be refused or granted upon payment of the difference to the regular ticket price.
(4) A ticket entitles one person to admission to each booked event (main event, afterparty, selected Side Events or Forum). Section 12 (5) (re-entry) remains unaffected. Seats are not allocated unless otherwise stated in the ticket shop.
Section 5 Side Events (Add-on Products)
(1) Depending on the ticket type, the customer can select a certain number of Side Events (Smart Rebel Keys) during the ordering process in the “Add-on products” step. The maximum number is shown there. The Side Events are included in the ticket price and are booked at no additional charge.
(2) Each Side Event has a limited allocation. Before completing the order, the customer can see in the “Add-on products” step which Side Events are still available; sold-out Side Events are marked there and cannot be selected. An entitlement to attend a specific Side Event exists only insofar as it is listed in the order confirmation. If, when ordering, the customer cannot select all Side Events included in their ticket type because not enough are available, the organiser will refund the portion pursuant to Section 11 (5) for each Side Event that cannot be redeemed, unless the customer obtains a Side Event by rebooking under paragraph 5 before the main event.
(3) Side Events are tied to the associated ticket and cannot be transferred or sold separately from the ticket. If the ticket lapses (e.g. due to cancellation, chargeback or refusal of approval), the selected Side Events lapse as well.
(4) If the customer voluntarily refrains from selecting Side Events or does not attend a selected Side Event, no refund is made for it. Side Events cannot be made up at later events.
(5) Where the ticket shop allows it, the customer may change or add to their selection after ordering via the link in the order email, subject to available capacity. There is no entitlement to rebooking. Changes are possible up to 48 hours before the start of the respective Side Event; for the Science Day · ESOC only until the booking deadline stated in the ticket shop.
(6) If a selected Side Event is cancelled, the organiser will offer another Side Event, subject to available capacity. The replacement Side Event only takes the place of the cancelled one if the customer accepts it; otherwise Section 11 (5) applies. The cancellation of individual Side Events does not affect the remainder of the ticket contract. In all other respects, the provisions of these T&C on programme changes and admission (Sections 11 and 12) apply accordingly to Side Events.
(7) Certain Side Events are aimed at a specific target group or are allocated via a waiting list only. The “Gastgeberinnen” (Hostesses) evening on 25 October 2026 is exclusively for women; it serves the targeted networking and promotion of women in entrepreneurship, science and space. The requirements and purpose are stated in the ticket shop for the respective Side Event. A place on the waiting list does not establish any entitlement to attend. For Side Events at venues not publicly announced, the organiser will communicate the address by email in good time before the event; the customer shall treat it as confidential.
Section 6 Special Conditions for the Science Day · ESOC
(1) The Science Day takes participants to the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Darmstadt, a security area. Participation is subject to approval by ESA and compliance with its visitor rules. ESA’s decision is outside the organiser’s control and requires no justification.
(2) When booking, the customer must provide their full name exactly as shown in their identity document, as well as their nationality and their telephone number. The organiser transmits these data to ESA, which uses them to carry out the security check; a visit is not possible without this transmission. Recipients, legal bases and deletion periods are described in the privacy policy. Special rules apply to certain nationalities, which ESA reviews on a case-by-case basis.
(3) On the day of the event, a valid official identity document recognised by ESA for the date must be presented. The requirements set by ESA for the respective date apply, in particular regarding admissible identity documents and luggage; the organiser will communicate them by email in good time before the date. Under the current requirements, only a passport or national identity card is accepted, and large bags and backpacks remain on the bus.
(4) Travel is by a bus organised by the organiser from Frankfurt at the departure times stated in the ticket shop.
(5) If ESA refuses approval although the customer has provided complete and correct information, the organiser will offer another Side Event, subject to available capacity. If the customer does not accept it or none is available, Section 11 (5) applies.
(6) If the customer cannot participate because they provided incorrect or incomplete information, cannot present a valid identity document or missed the bus departure, and is responsible for this, there is no entitlement to participation, replacement or refund. Until the booking deadline, the customer may correct their information or rebook in accordance with Section 5 (5). The ticket contract otherwise remains in force.
(7) Claims of the customer due to breaches of duty by the organiser, such as late or incorrect transmission of the data to ESA, remain unaffected in accordance with Section 14.
Section 7 Prices, Member Prices and Voucher Codes
(1) The prices stated in the ticket shop at the time of ordering apply. All prices are final prices in euros including statutory VAT. No additional advance booking, service or shipping fees are charged unless they are shown separately before the order is completed.
(2) Members of the Smart Rebels Club receive reduced prices via a personal code, which is sent by email after free registration at smartrebels.com and redeemed in the ticket shop under “Redeem voucher”. The member price requires that the customer is a registered member themselves.
(3) Unless expressly stated otherwise when issued (for example, partner codes for a fixed allocation), codes are personal, non-transferable, redeemable only once per person and only within the stated scope (ticket type, quantity, period). Cash payment is excluded. Codes cannot be applied retroactively to orders already completed.
(4) If a code is misused, in particular passed on, registered multiple times or obtained through false information, the organiser may claim the difference to the regular price. If the customer does not pay the difference within seven days of being requested to do so, the organiser may withdraw from the contract; in this case, any amounts already paid will be refunded.
Section 8 Payment
(1) Payment is processed via the payment service provider Stripe (for customers in the European Economic Area: Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, D02 H210, Ireland). The payment methods shown during the ordering process are available (e.g. credit and debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay). The relationship between the customer and their payment method provider (e.g. the card issuer) is governed by that provider’s terms; they are not part of the contract with the organiser.
(2) The purchase price is due immediately upon conclusion of the contract. For tickets subject to approval (Section 3 (5)), it must be paid within the period stated in the approval email, which shall be at least three days. If the customer does not pay in time, the organiser may withdraw from the contract and release the reserved allocation.
(3) Tickets are issued or become valid only after full receipt of payment. For tickets at a price of €0, no receipt of payment is required.
(4) If a payment is charged back or revoked (e.g. chargeback) without the customer being entitled to do so, the ticket including the Side Events will be blocked. The customer shall reimburse the organiser for the resulting bank and transaction costs if the customer is responsible for the chargeback. The right to continue claiming the purchase price remains unaffected.
(5) Invoices are issued electronically and are available for download via the order link.
Section 9 Ticket Delivery, Personalisation and Transfer
(1) Tickets are provided exclusively electronically by email or via the order link as a file with a QR code. The customer is responsible for the correctness of their email address.
(2) The QR code entitles the holder to admission to each booked event in accordance with Section 4 (4). The customer must protect the ticket from access by third parties. If several copies are presented, the organiser may grant entry to the person who presents it first, unless that person’s lack of entitlement is apparent, for example in the case of a ticket issued in another person’s name.
(3) Tickets may be issued in the name of the participant. Where the ticket shop provides for a change of name, the customer can make it via the order link. For the Science Day · ESOC, a change of name is only possible as long as the data have not yet been transmitted to ESA.
(4) Private, non-commercial transfer of a ticket (e.g. if the customer is unable to attend) is permitted, provided it is at no more than the price paid. Reduced-price tickets and member tickets may only be passed on to persons who themselves meet the requirements for the reduction.
(5) The following are prohibited: (a) commercial or professional resale, (b) resale at a price higher than the price paid, (c) offering tickets on auction or secondary market platforms without the organiser’s consent, and (d) use of tickets for advertising or prize-draw purposes without consent. In the event of a violation under (a) or (b), the organiser may block the ticket concerned and refuse entry; in the event of a violation under (c) or (d), only if the customer does not end it within a reasonable period after being requested to do so. If a ticket is blocked, the organiser will refund the ticket price paid; the organiser’s claims for damages remain unaffected and may be set off.
Section 10 Right of Withdrawal
(1) No right of withdrawal for the Convention. There is no right of withdrawal for tickets to the Smart Rebel Convention (main event, afterparty and Side Events). Pursuant to Section 312g (2) no. 9 BGB, there is no right of withdrawal for contracts for services related to leisure activities if the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. These orders are binding and subject to payment once the contract has been concluded.
(2) Right of withdrawal for the Forum. Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal for tickets to the European Space Law Forum. The details are set out in the withdrawal policy in the Annex to these T&C. Entrepreneurs have no statutory right of withdrawal. If, when ordering, the consumer expressly requests that the organiser begin performance before the end of the withdrawal period and confirms their acknowledgement that they lose their right of withdrawal once the contract has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal expires upon full performance of the service, i.e. at the end of the Forum. The declaration is stored with its time and wording and reproduced in the order confirmation.
(3) In all other respects, return or exchange of tickets is excluded unless otherwise provided in these T&C (in particular Section 11) or by law. If the customer is unable to attend, they may pass on the ticket in accordance with Section 9 (4).
Section 11 Programme Changes, Postponement and Cancellation
(1) The organiser may change the programme for objective reasons, for example due to cancellation or illness of speakers, official requirements, safety reasons or requirements of the venue, insofar as this is reasonable for the customer. Reasonable changes include, in particular, changes to the schedule, times and rooms, and the replacement of individual speakers, guests or programme items with equivalent ones. The essential services of the respective ticket type, in particular the ISA finale, the number of Side Events, the VIP area and the masterclass, are preserved. Reasonable changes do not entitle the customer to return the ticket or to a price reduction.
(2) If the main event is cancelled, the organiser will refund the ticket price paid in full via the original payment method.
(3) If the main event is postponed to another day, the customer may choose whether to keep their ticket for the new date or request a refund of the ticket price paid. The same applies if the event is moved to another venue, unless it is merely a different room at the same venue. The organiser will inform the customer of the change and of their choice. The customer’s statutory rights remain unaffected.
(4) If the event cannot take place in whole or in part due to force majeure or official order (e.g. severe weather, pandemic, terror threat, strike at third parties), paragraphs 2 and 3 apply accordingly. Further claims, in particular for reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs, exist only insofar as the organiser is responsible for the cancellation or postponement (Section 14).
(5) If a selected Side Event is cancelled and the customer does not accept a replacement Side Event (Section 5 (6)), the organiser will refund the portion of the ticket price attributable to the cancelled Side Event. The portion equals the ticket price actually paid divided by the number of Side Events included in the ticket type plus one; the main event counts as one unit. Examples: VIP Rebel at the member price of €399 with six Side Events: €399 ÷ 7 = €57.00 per Side Event; Smart Rebel at the member price of €10 with two Side Events: €10 ÷ 3 = €3.33 per Side Event. If the VIP area or the masterclass of the VIP Rebel ticket is cancelled entirely, the organiser will refund, for each of these services, half of the difference between the price paid and the price of the Smart Rebel ticket in the same price tier (regular or member). Further statutory claims of the customer remain unaffected.
(6) Changes and cancellations are announced by email to the address provided when ordering and on smartrebels.com.
(7) For Forum tickets, paragraphs 1 to 4 and 6 apply with the proviso that the Forum takes the place of the main event. A cancellation or postponement of the Forum does not affect Convention tickets, and vice versa.
Section 12 Admission, House Rules and Conditions of Participation
(1) Only persons with a valid ticket are admitted. The organiser and persons commissioned by it may request official photo identification at entry and, for reduced-price tickets, proof of eligibility.
(2) The house rules of the respective venues apply, in particular those of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, as well as the instructions of the organiser and of security and stewarding staff.
(3) The organiser may refuse entry to or expel persons from the event if they endanger safety, harass, threaten or discriminate against other participants, significantly disrupt the event, are significantly impaired as a result of alcohol or drug consumption, or seriously violate the house rules or these T&C despite being asked to stop. In these cases, the organiser retains its claim to the ticket price but must credit any expenses saved as a result of the non-participation.
(4) There is no age restriction for the main event and the Side Events. Persons under 18 require the consent of their parents or legal guardians to order and participate. Persons under 16 may only participate when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or by an adult authorised by them. The provisions of the German Youth Protection Act (Jugendschutzgesetz) remain unaffected. Admission to the afterparty is restricted to persons aged 18 and over; age must be proven upon request by official photo identification. If admission to the afterparty is refused due to age or lack of proof, there is no entitlement to a refund or price reduction. Age limits and deviating age requirements for individual Side Events are shown in the ticket shop for the respective product before purchase.
(5) Anyone arriving after the start of the event or of a Side Event has no entitlement to make up missed parts of the programme. Re-entry during the main event is possible with a valid ticket. It may be temporarily restricted insofar as safety reasons or the permitted maximum occupancy of the venue make this strictly necessary.
Section 13 Photo, Video and Audio Recordings
(1) The organiser and persons commissioned by it make photo, video and audio recordings during the events for documentation of and reporting on the event on the organiser’s own channels (website, social media profiles) and for the press. Notice of the recordings is given at entry and on site.
(2) Overview recordings in which participants appear as part of the audience or of the event are made on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, Section 23 (1) no. 3 German Art Copyright Act, KUG). Targeted individual recordings, interviews and the use of recordings of identifiable persons in paid advertising are made only with the separate consent of the person depicted.
(3) Targeted individual recordings of persons under 18 are made and published only with the consent of their parents or legal guardians and, from the age of 14, additionally of the minor themselves.
(4) Anyone who does not wish to be recorded can inform staff at entry or the recording team on site; the organiser will take this into account for targeted recordings. The use of recordings already made may be objected to at any time by email to [email protected]. Private conversations are not deliberately recorded. Details are set out in the privacy policy.
(5) Commercial photo, video and audio recordings by participants and the recording of entire programme items are prohibited without the organiser’s consent. For programme items marked as confidential and at ESOC, recordings are only permitted to the extent allowed on site.
Section 14 Liability
(1) The organiser is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for damage arising from injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and to the extent of any guarantee assumed.
(2) In the event of a slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Cardinal obligations are obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance the customer may regularly rely.
(3) Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded. The above limitations also apply in favour of the organiser’s legal representatives, employees and vicarious agents.
(4) Liability for items brought along and cloakroom items is governed solely by paragraphs 1 to 3, unless separate safekeeping has been agreed.
(5) Content and statements by speakers and guests reflect their own views. They do not constitute advice by the organiser, in particular not investment, legal or tax advice.
Section 15 Data Protection
The organiser processes personal data to perform the contract, to check admission and, for the Science Day, for the security check by ESA. Payment data are processed directly by Stripe. Details, including on analytics and marketing services in the ticket shop, can be found in the privacy policy at https://www.smartrebels.com/datenschutz.
Section 16 Consumer Dispute Resolution
The organiser is neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
Section 17 Final Provisions
(1) The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of the state in which they have their habitual residence.
(2) If the customer is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contract is Frankfurt am Main.
(3) Should individual provisions of these T&C be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by the statutory provision.
Annex: Withdrawal Policy for Tickets to the European Space Law Forum
This withdrawal policy applies only to consumers and only to tickets for the European Space Law Forum (Section 10 (2)).
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after fourteen days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Smart Rebellion GmbH, Vilbeler Landstraße 186, 60388 Frankfurt am Main, Germany, phone: +49 172 3507561, email: [email protected]) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or email). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. You can also declare your withdrawal using the withdrawal function in your order overview in the ticket shop.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal

We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
If you requested to begin the performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated to us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
